How satellite SOS works
Step 1 - search & rescue insurance
- Make sure you have valid search and rescue (S&R) insurance
- Search and rescue operation can be costly, make sure that your insurance covers it.
Step 2 - contacts in case of emergency
- Choose your direct contact persons in case of emergency.
- Make sure they know about it.
- Don't forget to inform your contact persons about your specific plans and how to reach you.
- Show them how to send message to your satellite SOS device.
Step 3 - Once you have your satellite SOS device
- Log in to your personal area in satellite SOS app
- Register your emergency information, contact persons and auto forwarding messages
- It is important to test everything before you head off to your adventure.
- Make sure you know how to operate your satellite sos device.
Step 4 - In case of emergency
- Once you initiated SOS in your satellite sos device, your emergency will be received simultaneously by satellite SOS 24/7 representative, your personal contacts and your search & rescue representative
- Your assistance then will be on the way!
Step 5 - During rescue operations
- satellite SOS representatives will be in contact with your search & rescue team and assist in locating your exact location and communicating with you.
